A historic museum featuring the art and history of sake brewing in Kobe’s famous Nada district.
MK Guide Recommends
Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum offers a large, free-entry look into one of Kobe’s most historic sake producers, with the preserved brewery building dating back to the Taisho era in the early 20th century. Inside, whimsical exhibits use life-sized dolls and original tools to step through the sake-making process, step by step, giving you a clear view into the craft that has defined the region for generations. The displays bring the fermentation process to life in a way that feels both educational and strangely personal. At the end, complimentary tastings allow you to sample the finished product for yourself. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of sake, and perhaps just a little light on your feet.
